Make_Good_Design + The Center for Subtropical Affairs presents the installation Outside/In, an immersive, living experience at Alcova, Miami. Outside/In features Modular Self-Watering Planters, rare and ancient plant-life, generative plant-powered Epiphytic Audio and a site-specific experience horticultural design that combine to create a dynamic, re-generative environment.
Outside/In supports The Miami Tropical Botanic Garden, located in Miami's little Haiti neighborhood, featuring some the last 3 remaining acres of contiguous green space in the center of the Miami. This magical urban garden features a natural spring and lake and a singular horticultural and landscape design experience, where native Everglades species, rare tropical and global plant-life meet spatial and object design, art and science.
Make_Good_ is a design studio based out of LA and New York. Make_Good_ believes in making the world less bad through sustainable planetary design. It focuses on the intersection between built and digital environments so humans and all species can listen closely and support each other, their communities and worlds.
The Center for Subtropical Affairs and The Miami Tropical Botanic Garden, located just a few blocks from Alcova in little Haiti, is the last 3 acres of green space within the urban core of Miami. It features rare and unique species and a community based focus urban garden adaptation. The garden currently actively pursuing support to keep its doors open to help support Miami and its community focused horticultural practice.
