FRUTTI DI MARE
by TOUCH WITH EYES
The new collection is called FRUTTI DI MARE. Its inspiration came from long daily walks along the Adriatic Sea. It is the wintery, deserted beaches that uncover their true beauty and offer their treasures to the viewer, such as shells, driftwood, and seaweed. Anna and Alexander, who grew up on the shores of the North Sea, which isn't as rich in such treasures, couldn’t resist collecting all these treasures and breathing new life and function into them. This is how the lamp with sea scallops, chandelier with oysters, and candelabra with mussels came to be. The soft light, hidden in the shells like pearls, highlights the beauty of the natural curves and the mother-of-pearl of the shells. The designers wanted to express the nature of the sea, the taste of salt, and the beauty of marine world.
TOUCH WITH EYES is a design duo of Alexander Kanygin and Anna Druzhinina. Traveling Europe in a mobile workshop, they create on the go, inspired by nature and traces of human life. They collect materials from the environment—driftwood, shells, sand molds, buoys, palm branches—and transform them into new forms and functions. Their work lets audiences feel the sea, sun, salt, sand, and earth, blending improvisation with craftsmanship, and connecting design directly to place and memory.
