KARST
by GRÔPK
My works stand at the intersection between time and nature. Once fired, ceramics are almost eternal, yet I feel tempted to expose them to the elements. What would happen if my creations were subjected to water, minerals and time? What new forms might emerge from this slow, transformative interaction? Fascinated by karst processes, where water shapes rock over centuries, I explore how ceramics might respond to the same forces. How could new textures, layers and patterns emerge, born not only from my hands but also from nature itself? It is a project of patience and transformation. I strive to see ceramics not as static objects but as forms that, like nature, are in constant flux. This is a quest to understand how permanence can meet transience—how to create a piece that never ceases to transform.
