Drawing inspiration from the classical pottery of Anastassiades’ native Cyprus, the collection comprises three distinct shapes, each inspired by classical forms while embracing a minimalist, modern aesthetic. These vessels are designed not only as sculptural objects but also as elegant homes for your favorite plants. The generous proportions and smooth, curvilinear surfaces provide a perfect backdrop for lush greenery, allowing plants to flourish while elevating the aesthetic of any space.

Sam Bigio is a designer and creative director based in Paris with a master’s degree in history of Decorative Arts and Design from Parsons and the Cooper Hewitt Museum.

In 2017, Bigio founded Monstruosus, dedicated to designing and crafting premium ceramic planters for indoor and outdoor use. It was established when he couldn’t find minimalist, matte-glazed planters for his work as styling director for Herman Miller NY. 

We sweat the details, in design and production, so that our planters stand the test of time and trends. The designs honor a strong lineage of Mid-Century American ceramic craftsmanship while building and evolving these traditions to fit an inspired, contemporary lifestyle.
