Soft Horizons

by Greek Marble x Objects of Common Interest

SOFT HORIZONS will debut during Milan Design Week 2025, set within the newly unveiled Glasshouses of Alcova’s latest venue. This immersive installation reimagines Greek marble within an environment of light and transparency, engaging visitors in a dialogue between material history and transformation. SOFT HORIZONS is an exploration of material memory and transformation, set within the ethereal space of a greenhouse. Fragments of Greek marble, reshaped and reassembled, float with unexpected lightness, gently shifting in response to human presence. Suspended above, a radiant disc echoes distant landscapes, connecting the installation to the marble’s origin. Rising from water, the marble recalls its geological journey—dissolution, crystallization, and rebirth—mirroring both natural processes and craftsmanship. This is not a monument to permanence, but a meditation on becoming, where discarded remnants transform into dynamic forms. SOFT HORIZONS invites an intimate dialogue with motion, memory, and materiality, revealing Greek marble as something alive—capable of change, reflection, and resonance.

This is a project celebrating Greek Marble. An installation created by Objects of Common Interest and supported by Enterprise Greece as part of its strategic initiative to promote Greek Marble internationally, as well as by leading Greek marble producers and exporters, listed in alphabetical order: Dionyssomarble, FHL | Kiriakidis , Iktinos Hellas, John Papagiannoulis Bros, Marble Sachanas , Marmyk Iliopoulos, and Stone group International.
