SUSPENDO
by Plato Design
With the installation SUSPENDO designed by STUDIOTAMAT, the new lamps collection LOLA by Plato Design is presented to the public.
120 lamps suspended at different heights form an illuminating mantle that floats in the air. An installation that questions the canonical vision of the material it is made of, concrete, working on the themes of lightness and colour. The composition plays between the solidity of concrete and the lightness of its shape, between the contrasts of colour and its shades.
The project by STUDIOTAMAT interprets those values distinguishing Plato Design brand and makes them tangible: the essential design, the materiality of concrete combined with the research on colours, the tactile sensation that the products emanate thanks to the special surface finish, the multiple possibilities for customization.
The LOLA lamps, positioned at different heights, create a single suspended element, almost losing their single function, to take on a choral one. A soft carpet on the floor welcomes visitors, inviting them to rest on the cushions and lose themselves in the muffled atmosphere of the installation, creating an unexpected harmony between colours and lights.
Plato Design is an Italian company that creates lighting fusing minimalist design with the raw elegance of concrete and vibrant colours. The motto "Minimal with Attitude" captures the company essence - simple yet distinctive.
Founded in 2016 by the architects Alessandro Mattei and Caterina Naglieri the company has become a small creative industry that exports all over the world.
Each lamp is designed and handcrafted in Città della Pieve, in the valleys between Umbria and Tuscany. Here tradition meets innovation and every piece tells a story of Italian craftsmanship and beauty.
STUDIOTAMAT was founded in 2014 by T.Amato, M.Soddu and V.Paiola, working from architectural to furnishing design.
