"The King's Hat"

Contem has collaborated with renowned designer Nick Ross to present 
a collection crafted from the pruned branches of linden trees that line the historic island of Kungshatt. Originally planted under the direction of King Fredrik I in the 1730s, the trees have remained untouched for nearly a century, carrying with them a piece of Swedish royal heritage. Now, part of that legacy is transformed into objects, while the trees continue to stand and thrive.
The collection includes seating furniture, a coffee table, vase, and a floor chandelier. 

Contem was founded in 2021, with the vision of rediscovering beauty in discarded and unused materials. With a strong focus on sustainability and functionality, Contem strives to create timeless pieces that tell stories of renewal and resilience. By repurposing trees that would otherwise be discarded, Contem transforms them into furniture that blends history with enduring design.
