Mission Sitting
by Studio ChristineKalia x Muskita
Created in collaboration with Muskita, Mission Seating is inspired by the precision and restraint of spacecraft interiors, transforming industrial remnants into objects of rest. Each piece is crafted from repurposed aluminum window profiles, turning construction offcuts into structural elements with purpose and intention.
Sitting becomes a moment of pause and engagement, where you literally buckle yourself in, echoing the experience of astronauts preparing for the unknown. The warm orange surfaces recall re-entry heat shields, blending cold industrial material with human presence.
Mission Seating is a study in contrasts: grounded yet suspended, technical yet emotional, sustainable yet aspirational—a reflection on how thoughtful design can turn everyday objects into experiences.
