Moonlight, skylight

by Franck Genser x Tonester

Organic materials such as alabaster and wood, sculptural forms, and hues that shift like light through the atmosphere define Franck Genser and Tonester’s installation at Alcova Miami 2025.

Rooted in raw natural materials and guided by the expressive strength of brutalist design, the space explores the dialogue between solidity and softness, mass and movement. Carved alabaster lighting reveals the stone’s natural translucence, while a monumental stone table grounds the ensemble with quiet force. The soft curved armchair, upholstered in light velvet, introduces a tactile warmth that softens the architectural lines of the space. Sculptural lighting, where hidden technology makes for the show, creates movement similar to natural breathing.

Subtle layers of blue—Tonester’s signature hues, French Blue and Secret Society—envelop the space, evoking the horizon where earth and sky converge. The result is a serene yet powerful environment, an exploration of balance where material, light, and emotion coexist in a state of refined harmony.

Fascinated by the soul of objects and their impact on human perception, Paris-based designer Franck Genser founded his studio in 2015. Blending engineering, craftsmanship, and emotion, his creations transcend function to explore form and meaning. Also trained in Gestalt therapy, Genser embraces design as a dialogue between self and environment.
Based in Florida, Tonester was founded by Tony Piloseno, whose viral paint-mixing videos inspired a global creative community.
