562 Olives
by AnanasAnanas and PARASITE 2.0
562 Olives by AnanasAnanas, in collaboration with Parasite 2.0, invites viewers into an immersive dialogue about environmental sustainability and the consequences of our daily consumption. Through an intricate interplay of organza and light, the exhibition visually represents 9,000 L of water—the amount needed to produce 562 olives—drawing attention to the hidden costs embedded in the resources we consume.
Featuring AnanasAnanas’s tableware objects crafted from discarded earth and dehydrated oyster shells sourced hyper-locally from their workshop in Baja California, TRACE transforms these materials into functional pieces. Utilizing the technique of rammed earth for structural integrity, the objects speak to the fragility of the environment and our need for responsible stewardship. The collection addresses urgent global issues, such as soil erosion and depletion caused by unsustainable farming practices and climate change.
A stainless steel surface in the shape of the earth’s contours and then mirror polished, creating a striking contrast between the raw, natural elements and the sleek, reflective surfaces. The use of food-grade materials ensures the usability of each piece, transforming them from symbolic art objects into functional objects. TRACE challenges us to reflect on the environmental footprints of our actions and reconsider the long-term implications of our consumption habits.

Ananas Ananas is a food-art studio founded by Verónica González and Elena Petrossian. Their work focuses on creating edible installations, dining experiences and experimental tableware objects that encourage their audience to interact with food in a multi-sensory and experimental way. These experiences are intentionally temporary, meant to be enjoyed mindfully and to facilitate intimately present moments. The art studio is deeply committed to rethinking food production systems and highlighting real, meaningful actions against food waste. The duo seeks to connect and immerse the audience on an individual and collective level in the food they eat.
Since 2019, they produce works in exhibitions, openings and spaces for artistic and commercial purposes.
