Anachron Collection

For the 2025 Edition of Alcova Milano, Studio Lugo presents the debut of the Anachron series. Studio Lugo is based in Istanbul, Turkey. Since the beginnings of civilization, this region has been a vibrant hub of cultural exchange; an important historic crossroads for peoples migrating between the continents of Europe and Asia.

Rooted in inspiration from Anatolian rituals, the design elements of Anachron carry visual traces from different time periods and cultural influences. The Anachron Series draws from Anatolia's rich agricultural past, where farming practices shaped civilization starting in 8.300 BC. Anatolia's vibrant traditions in ceramics, metalworking, woodworking, embroidery, and quilt making offer a deep well of cultural inspiration.

The Alcova presentation is a sensory portal to Anatolia's agrarian heritage. Wooden rods suspended from the ceiling end in steel bells that sway and chime, evoking herds moving across ancient grasslands. Carefully positioned lighting casts evolving shadows throughout the day. Each piece invites touch and interaction—modular elements shift and adapt, encouraging visitors to engage with age-old rituals in new ways.

Studio Lugo is an interdisciplinary design studio based in Istanbul that aims to intersect cumulative design knowledge with contemporary approaches in the fields of detailing, crafting and experimenting in the range of interior design to product design.
