304.cage collection 2026 is about collaboration and lighting design. The lighting design is inspired by large scale classical chandeliers. We tend to create a visual language where we combine collectible design with features from the past.

The large leather sculptural daybed is a collaboration between Rotterdam-based design studio 304.cage and Vienna-based Artist Chun. Reflecting on the defensive architecture we see around us on a daily base, we became inspired to design two large objects that appear uninviting at first sight. Looking closer though, they reveal themselves as comfortable functional objects. We combined bold harsh materials with soft textures to exaggerate this context.

304.cage is driven by reflecting on defensive objects and architecture we see around us on a daily base. The work questions the use of contemporary hostility, alienation and functionality. Presenting these terms in a different/objectifying way to either feel attracted to the “user-friendliness”, or feel even more dissociated by the lack of attachment. To exaggerate this context most of our designs combine industrial bold materials with softer details. We offer innovative solutions that challenge the way we think about functionality and form.
