Archway 1

"Archway" is a small pavilion showcasing the ZELT design identity. All installations created at ZELT are part of an ongoing practice to define space and experience with textiles. In the three-dimensional design of the membranes the studio plays with our understanding of the forces running through these tensile structures. The seeming weightlessness, slender compound curved facades and negative volumes create a way for us to visually wander off. Each piece pushes the boundaries of construction, site and purpose. Working at all scales ZELT is unrestricted by location and actively seeks new environments, from snowy mountain-tops to orchestral stages.

ZELT, founded by Johannes Offerhaus-Kinneir, conceptualises, designs and builds textile structures that unfurl as pavilions, tents, abstract installations and intimate spaces.

Offerhaus-Kinneir started his career in haute-couture fashion then studied architecture. From wearable kinetic pieces his work evolved to large-scale interventions.

Prototyping, pattern-cutting and manufacturing ZELT carries out in-house.
