Ceramic reflection

by Pani Jurek Studio

The central point of the exhibition is a ceramic tile composition combining vibrant colors with spatial patterns. Light plays across its geometric, convex surfaces. The contrasting textures of glossy and matte glazes, along with engobe, refer to the sense of touch. POLA is inspired by the abstract world of Op Art and the monumental ceramic art of the modernist era. The artwork is complemented by periscope lamps from the OP collection, which pay tribute to color and its ability to surprise, transform, and delight. Through this exhibition, we want to share with viewers the beauty of ceramics — a medium that has captured our professional lives.

PANI JUREK is a design studio combined with a ceramics workshop, run by Magda Jurek and Michał Borecki. It operates at the intersection of design, craftsmanship and art. The objects created by Studio go beyond their stereotypical functions, with interactivity being an inherent feature. Conceived as elements of spatial compositions, they often change depending on their surroundings and users. A distinctive trait of the Studio’s projects is color.  A fascination with materials and a deep respect for their possibilities and limitations are evident in every object created by Studio.
Studio’s objects are part of the collections of the National Museum in Krakow and National Museum in Warsaw.
