Disco House
by Uslu Design Studio
Disco House is the debut collection by Istanbul based Uslu Design Studio, founded by interior architect and designer Alp Usluduran. The series revisits the subtle relationship between music and architecture through furniture. Inspired by the liberated and glamorous nightlife culture of the late 1970s and early 1980s, the collection places that free spirited, hedonistic atmosphere alongside today’s more sterile and safety driven modes of living. Rhythm, material and ambience come together to suggest a pleasure driven way of inhabiting space. At Alcova, two pieces from the Disco House universe — The Cuban cabinet and The Laidback armchair — are presented within a theatrical installation.
Uslu Design Studio was founded in 2025 to translate architectural thinking into objects and collectible furniture. The studio approaches furniture as an extension of spatial practice. It was established by Istanbul based interior architect and designer Alp Usluduran, who founded Uslu Architects in 2015 after completing his studies at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University and Accademia di Brera.
