FELT FREQUENCIES
by SLALOM X V.A.I.
Slalom develops innovative acoustic solutions for architectural projects, combining cutting-edge design with sustainable materials and custom systems.
Vintage Audio Institute curates one of the world’s largest collections of Italian analog synthesizers from the 1970s and ‘80s.
At Alcova, the two transform a pavilion within the Baggio military hospital, with an immersive project designed by Studiolatte. Clad in Slalom’s sound-absorbing felt and refined textile, the space is filled with vintage synthesizers — an audio-visual experience of the instruments’ tones and functional design, with a soundscape sculpted by Slalom’s surfaces. Through musical installations and live events, the pavilion presents “Felt Frequencies”, an eight-day jam session where music, analog memory and design experimentation converge.
