Interlaced
by FROMM.Lab
Interlaced is a design exhibition curated by Etienne Bastormagi, exploring Arab heritage through a cross-cultural lens. Developed by FROMM.Lab, it originates from an international competition launched during Milan Design Week 2025, inviting designers to reinterpret heritage across furniture typologies. Selected from over 120 submissions spanning 50 countries, twelve projects were developed through a mentorship program led by Joseph Grima, Giulio Cappellini, Aline Asmar d’Amman, and Luca Fois. Presented at Alcova as a preview, the exhibition introduces four pieces within an evolving body of work, positioning design as a shared language shaped by diverse cultural perspectives.
FROMM.Lab is the talent and research arm of FROMM., supporting designers through mentorship, collaboration, and production. Positioned between Milan and Msheireb, it develops contemporary design rooted in cross-cultural dialogue and connects emerging voices to international platforms.
