“Language of Light” is an exhibition presenting Diaphan Studio’s ongoing research into reflective and translucent materials.
The designer duo worked on light sculptures rendered in traditional materials, coupled with the latest LED technologies. The contrast results in unique light patterns projected onto the surrounding environment.
Inspired by crystallography and 20th Century Italian design, Diaphan explores themes of impermanence and complexity. The exhibition emphasizes movement, interactivity, and public engagement, fostering a dynamic atmosphere where light's ephemeral nature takes center stage.
Diaphan Studio is an atelier founded by Alessandro Giacomelli and Dominique Wolniewicz, respectively a gemologist and a lighting designer. Their approach blends a deep exploration of light’s optical properties with a contemporary interpretation of crystalline structures, often imperceptible to the human eye.
Each creation is a sculpture made of light, casting delicate projections into its surroundings. More than objects, these luminous works transform spaces, allowing light to unfold in a mesmerizing symphony of color and form.
