Schema

The project 'Schema' is a seating arrangement embodying a modular series of contrasts. Composed of a chair, a bench, and a table, Schema is conceived as a spatial system rather than individual objects. Central to the collection is a material dialogue between aluminium and hardwood. Cold, contemporary presence meets warm refinement in deliberate tension. This gesture defines the physical experience and the conceptual framework of the arrangement. Viewers are questioned how time will impact the materials and in what medium it will be recorded. Whilst this collection has only 3 pieces, the arrangement exists as a continuous potential of formations.

Lorenzo McKechnie is a designer and furniture maker operating exclusively from his studio in East London. Having full control over the quality of the pieces is foundational to the vision of the studio. As such, he only releases limited runs of art-objects and conceptual furniture pieces.
