Shakti Design Residency

Shakti Design Residency debuts designs from its second programme, including collaborations between Rodolfo Agrella and Vikram Goyal Studio, Daniel Garber and Klove Studio, Maria Tyakina and Heirloom Naga Centre, Tadeáš Podracký and Heirloom Naga Centre, Zofia Ursic and Frozen Music, and Victoire de Brantes and Jaipur Rugs. 

Shakti Design Residency brings global designers together with Indian ateliers and craftspeople - under the guidance of world-renowned mentors - to create collaborative work.

The programme believes heritage is safeguarded through contemporary relevance - not static preservation - and establishes an evolved, symbiotic relationship between global design and Indian craftsmanship.

Founded by interior designer, art and design collector and philanthropist Shalini Misra, the Shakti Design Residency is a first-of-its-kind initiative intended to develop new symbiotic relationships between Indian craftsmanship and the global design world. The first residency is organised in partnership with Jesse Lee, founder of digital retail platform basic.space and chairman of Design Miami.

Five global designers have been selected from an open call for submissions by an international jury of world-leading design and creative mentors.
