Tête-à-Tête

by playinghouse

"Tête-à-Tête"
Borrowing its title from the artist's table on display, this group exhibition imagines—and plays with—the room's past life as a study for private reflection and conversation. Bringing audiences face to face with a range of objects and architectural details of the villa that demand close attention, the display encourages deeper exploration of materiality, from eggshells to glass, altogether expanding upon playinghouse's conviction that playfulness can be synonymous with rigorous design. This conversation continues in the second part of the exhibition in Milan's Certosa District, celebrating the city's multifaceted architectural histories.
Guest curated by Margherita Dosi Delfini, featuring Anna Dawson, Baiyang Kong, Caleb Engstrom, Francesco Rosati, Kate Greenberg, Maggie Pei, Maha Alavi, Romain Basile Petrot, and Sarah Huffard. Spatial design by Andre Bahremand and Edyta Milczarek.

playinghouse is an artist-first platform bridging contemporary art and collectible design. Based in New York, the platform orchestrates exhibitions at rotating popup locations, exploring the intersection of the functional, the familiar, and the inventive.
