Waiting Room

by Sema Topaloğlu Studio

Waiting Room approaches waiting not as lost time, but as a quiet moment in between. At the center of the space, a large glass chandelier becomes the main focal point, reflecting light and casting subtle colors across the surfaces. As daylight changes, reflections shift and the atmosphere transforms throughout the day. The room encourages movement, observation, and awareness rather than long stays. Waiting is no longer lost time; it becomes a conscious interval. The design explores the tension between movement and stillness, presence and anticipation, shaping a simple function into a meaningful spatial experience.

Sema Topaloglu studied landscape architecture in Ankara and later developed her practice in Brussels through workshops and interior studios. Working between Istanbul and Milan, she collaborates with master artisans to create furniture and spatial works. Her material-driven approach explores tactility, structural honesty, and cultural dialogue across contexts.
