Washi No Akari

by Prangé

A material, washi paper as the embodiment of the threshold between inner and outer self.
A moment, a quiet gaze on a sheet gazering the shifting colors of the outer landscape.
Finally, forms inspired by the traditional Japanese architecture and luminaires, and their shared philosophy.

The Washi No Akari collection brings together different types of luminaires, all animated by the same evocative force of Japan’s luminous feelings, embedded in washi paper and its cultural uses.

Each piece crafted in the studio is unique, shaped by artisanal processes and guided by an intuitive approach, led by the spontaneity of an ever-shifting horizon.

From inside to outside, from day to night, from matter to emotion. Maxime Prangé is a light artisan, drawing his research from the relationships between an environment and the ways it is culturally inhabited.

His vision is grounded in materiality and expressed through manifesto-like works, capable of conveying luminous sensations.
