WATERSPORTS

by KEITH HENNING

WATERSPORTS presents a series of sculptural ceramic fountains that reinterpret urinals and public utilities as sensual architectural forms. Wheel-thrown stoneware components are stacked into vertical sculptural bodies through which water circulates continuously, producing rhythm, sound, and movement. By merging the architectural language of the urinal with the symbolic presence of the fountain, the works question how public infrastructures regulate intimacy, visibility, and desire. Through glaze, surface, and flowing water, the sculptures position ceramic as both vessel and body, transforming utilitarian objects into fluid, sensorial forms.

Keith Henning is a South African artist and designer based between Milan and Cape Town. With a background in industrial design, his practice focuses on ceramics and sculpture, exploring how material and form can reflect themes of desire, control, and transformation.
