Feel the Matter

Project explores the transformation of simple materials into valuable objects through creative and technical processes. Starting with scrap wood, we reveal its unique grain and texture through surface treatments. This texture surface is then transferred into aluminium (which is 100% recycled), an industrial material that serves as a vessel for the wood’s organic richness. This process of transmutation turns raw materials into unique pieces, challenging perceptions of their intrinsic value.

crafting plastics! studio is an award winning circular design and research studio based in Bratislava, Slovakia, founded by Vlasta Kubušová and Miroslav Král in 2016. The studio's practice focuses its expertise on cross-disciplinary research, development, and implementation of new generations of better ecological biocomposites into our current and future day-to-day lives.
