Disguise Series 00 is a collection of seatings born from experimentation and play in the workshop: a family of objects that uses disguise to shift perception, turning simple structures into expressive forms.
Each piece hides a curved steel frame wrapped in hand-sewn spiky textile. They look fierce but feel soft, creating an ambiguous balance between attraction and distance. It’s a clever way of creating something new from something simple: using basic materials and a straightforward technique to achieve an unexpected result.
The act of disguising becomes a method of design, a way of altering perception through surface, texture, and repetition. Presented at Alcova Miami 2025, Disguise Series 01 continues the studio’s exploration of how material and process can reshape the identity of objects. The work sits somewhere between design, sculpture, and costume, where function slips into character and objects seem to look back at us.
