The symbols () and <> are forms created by altering a single line. They are figures in which a small change to the primitive concept of a line adds function. Taking these two forms as the starting point of the project,, the works are reconstructed using basic materials with simple operations applied. Although the structure consists of few elements, changes in the material’s shape lead to unexpected details, allowing forms with diverse expressions to emerge. Following the principle of structural minimalism, operations are applied to the material according to certain rules in order to observe what forms appear as a result.
Kozeki sees the role of design as expressing the discovery and renewal of value. He has a strong interest in the fundamental principles and basic structures of things, pursuing essential simplicity. In recent years, he has also explored the concept of Deconstructed Minimalism.
